Photo #03 : The Howdah
Found this interesting piece displayed at the Taiping Museum - A howdah. According to the description, the howdah is an ornate carraige positioned on the back of elephant. In the past the Indians depended on elephants for transportation, and their influence on mode of transportation had spread to Siam, and eventually to the penisula Malaysia. This is the only known collection of Howdah in Malaysia. So, please visit the Taiping Museum to have a peek.
Thank you very much to the ancient Indians for adding colours and varieties to Malaysia's past.
